Suburban Cloud

Our Infrastructure

Suburban Cloud runs on infrastructure that we operate in Nigeria: a Data Centre in Abuja, Nutanix hyper-converged clusters and a network designed to serve users in Nigeria locally.

Abuja Data Centre

Our primary facility is located in Abuja. It houses the compute, storage and network equipment on which all Suburban Cloud services run. The specifications listed are being verified with the facility operator and will be updated as each item is confirmed.

Nutanix Hyper-Converged Platform

Compute and storage run on Nutanix AHV clusters. Hyper-converged infrastructure combines processing, memory and storage in each node and manages them as a single pool, which provides resilience and consistent performance as capacity grows.

  • Every node contributes processing, memory and NVMe storage to a shared resource pool
  • Data is replicated across nodes to protect against the failure of an individual node
  • Workloads on a failed node are restarted on the remaining nodes in the cluster
  • Snapshots and volumes are managed through the Suburban console and API

Network and Connectivity

Hosting in Abuja places applications close to users in Nigeria. Suburban peers at the Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN), so that traffic between Nigerian networks and your services can remain in the country. Our target round-trip time for users in Lagos and Abuja is under 10ms, and measurement results will be published with their method and test date.

Networking Services

  • Private networks (VPCs) to isolate environments and internal services
  • Security groups to control inbound and outbound traffic for each resource
  • Load balancers to distribute traffic across application servers
  • Floating IP addresses that can be reassigned between resources

Arrange an Architecture Review

Enterprise and government customers may arrange an architecture review with our engineers and a visit to the facility.
