Managed Databases
Suburban Managed Databases provides PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis as fully managed services in our Abuja Data Centre. Provisioning, backups and maintenance are handled by Suburban, and each database connects to your applications over a private network.
Overview
The service is intended for production workloads that require dependable data storage without the overhead of administering database servers. Each instance is sized by vCPU, memory and storage, attached to a private network and managed from the same console as your compute and application services.
Getting Started
- 1.Select a database engine and an instance size.
- 2.Attach the database to the private network used by your applications.
- 3.Connect using the credentials shown in the console. Backups and maintenance then run on schedule.

Automated Backups
Snapshot backups run on a schedule and can be restored from the console.
Private Network Access
Databases can be restricted to private networks and reached only from your Virtual Machines and App Engine applications.
Read Replicas
Read replicas can be added to separate reporting and analytical queries from production traffic.
Monitoring
Status, connection details and performance metrics for each instance are available in the console.
Data Residency
Databases and their backups are stored in Nigeria, which supports compliance with local data protection requirements.
