Serverless Functions will allow your team to run event-driven code behind HTTPS endpoints without provisioning or maintaining servers. The service is in development and is not yet generally available. Organisations may register their interest to receive early access.

Overview
Functions are intended for webhooks, scheduled tasks and lightweight APIs that operate alongside your databases and storage. Until the service becomes available, App Engine and Elastic Compute support the same workloads.
